Breakfast with Santa

This past weekend was Breakfast with Santa at our church.  I did registration again this year, and the event was a wonderful success!  Mack was good for Santa, as he was last year.  It was fun to go to the event because we only had Mack last year, and this year we had little Mitchell with us as well.  Some of the people we saw after a year hadn't known we were expecting!  Mack is beginning to understand about Santa, and says daily he is coming to bring him presents.  Grandma Mady, Nate, Aunt Leslie and Paul came to visit this weekend.  It was nice to have them at the event.  Here are some pictures from the day!

Many many updates

                                                                    (6 weeks)

(7 weeks, this could be Ethan)
(8 weeks)

I'm way way way behind on the blogging, but with the holidays here and two little ones to take care of, I have less time to brag about them online ha!  I thought I would post a few pictures from the past few weeks as I did not get any pictures over Thanksgiving.  We did manage to take a family picture by the Christmas tree, so I am happy we at least have that to send out in our holiday cards.  Here are Mitchell's weekly updates, and a few candid shots of Mack I took today, that I just couldn't resist sharing.  Enjoy!

5 weeks old!

Mitchell is 5 weeks old, time is flying.  I cannot believe it will already be Thanksgiving in a couple of weeks!  Last weekend we made our first trip as a family of 4 to Kansas City.  Both boys were great travelers, and we had a wonderful time at our friends the Beerman's home.  Luckily Aunt Beck is in Columbia, so we had a perfect place to stop and break up the trip!  I'd love to have a picture of Mack in this weeks post, but I can't get my little stinker to sit still for long enough!

Happy Halloween, and Happy 1 month baby Mitch!

Well I cannot believe it has been 1 year since last Halloween, and now we have two 2 little ones to celebrate with!  Mack was a darling cowboy, although he decided after a few pictures he was done wearing his hat.  He does love his cowboy boots though, and wore them the next morning over his sleeper, all around the house!  Mitchell was our perfect little pumpkin while being held or fed, but posing for pictures with Mack was a problem.  The one attached is the best I was able to get.  This year Mack had fun trick-or-treating, but I'm not sure he really got the concept.  Luckily he was happy to hand over his candy so I can monitor how much he's eating.  We cannot believe Mitchell is already a month old, time is flying by.  He is overall a pretty good baby, we just anxiously await those nights to come in which he's sleeping a little longer than 4 hours at a time.  However, compared to Mack's sleeping habits as an infant I should not complain.  Enjoy the pics!

Mack and Mitch (2 weeks old)

So I'm a week behind on updating this, but here are some pictures of my boys over the last two weeks.  I have some cute ones from the past weekend and Aunt Leslie and Grandma Mady's visit, so I will put those on for the next post.  Little Mitchell is thriving, he is now close to 9 pounds, and eats all the time!  He is sleeping 4 hours at a time at night, so the doctor says we are lucky parents!  Mack has started acknowledging Mitchell as baby brother this week, so that's been very encouraging to see.  I'm in heaven taking care of our baby, and Mack's personality is so fun to watch.  I haven't worked my way up to doing anything with the 2 of them alone yet, but I will soon!

Baby Mitchell is here!

Although I haven't posted 1 belly pic with my second pregnancy, I had a wonderful experience with our second child.  I was induced on October 2 at 9:30 am, and had the baby by 5:00 pm that day!  Mack was born on June 2nd, 2010, so our boys are exactly 2 years and 4 months apart to the day.  My labor was painless and Mitchell Adam Silverman entered the world at 4:57 pm, weighing 8 lbs 6 oz and was 20 inches long.  I never thought I could feel as elated as I did when Mack was born, but having another healthy baby only made Ethan and I feel even happier!  We had a little scare on Mitchell's second night in the world, and he had to stay in the NICU for an additional 48 hours for rapid breathing.  Luckily I only had to stay away from him for 1 night, and was able to go back and forth from the hospital to nurse him.  We received excellent care from the nurses and doctors there, and thankfully Mitchell was perfectly happy and healthy when we brought him home on Friday.  Mack was hesitant at the hospital meeting Mitch, but he has warmed up rather nicely at home.  Mitch is already a very good baby.  He is a pro at nursing, and lots calmer than Mack was at this age.  Needless to say, I'm enjoying every minute of my maternity leave, and getting to know our newest baby angel!

Uncle Rob's wedding weekend

At the end of June we went to the Jersey shore for Rob's wedding.  As you know, Rob is Mack's godfather, and asked that Mack be the ring bearer in his wedding!  We were very proud of our little boy's performance at the rehearsal, wedding, and the beach!  He was a wonderful traveler there and back, and was not afraid of the ocean one bit.  It's so interesting to see the change in him from when we took him to the beach as a 9 month old.  Grandma Mady, Aunt Leslie, and Aunt Avery all came in town for the wedding and helped with Mack, so he was reveling in all of the attention!  Here are a few pictures from our weekend.

Mack's 2nd Birthday

Wow, our little boy is now a two-yr-old!  We can't believe it.  Mack started off his day with his new favorite word, which is "NO!"  So, much to my dismay, he was waking up to the "terrible-two's" the morning of his birthday.  After and early nap though, he got it together and had a great time at his party.  Ethan's Dad and stepmom came in from NY for the event, along with my Dad from Springfield.  We celebrated with a beautiful cake (made by my cousin Diedre) and friends and family.  My friend Angela let us borrow the bouncy house, and the swingset from GB and David (for Mack's birthday) turned out to be very popular with kids and parents alike!  It was a beautiful day in St. Louis here, in the high 70's, unlike the brutally hot weather we endured last year.  Mack loved his cake, and happily indulged in not one, but two pieces!  When it was all over, he let me rock him to sleep, an extreme rarity these days.  I couldn't help but reflect on the happiest day of my life just two short years ago, and got a little teary.  I'm blaming the tears on my pregnancy hormones with baby boy number 2 right now!  Anyway, here are some pictures of the weekend!

Easter

Well, it took me forever to get these pictures posted, but I finally accomplished it.  We spent Easter with my mom and grandparents a few weeks ago in Fayetteville, AR.  Mom and David took Mack for a few days while Ethan and I got a little get-a-way to Eureka Springs.  We had a really nice time.  Mack was a definite hit at church in his seer-sucker suit and bow tie!  I even had a parishoner tell me he looked like a little "Col. Reb from Ole Miss!"  Here are some pictures from our day!

St. Patrick's Day!

(Mack and the girls)

(Are those recliners going down the street?)

(Watching the clowns, not sure about it)

(Looking mischevious)

Ok I know, I know, I have been terribly bad about updating the blog. I'm not proud of it either! I remember diligently updating each post at the very least on a monthly basis, but the thing about kids is, the bigger they get, the busier they get! Mack Allan is almost 22 months old, and the terrible two's have definitely begun! We are (somewhat) successfully using "time out" in our home, but not-to-fear, Mack tests us on a daily basis! With the tantrums, come his sweet side though. He loves to give kisses to mommy and daddy, and talks about everything! His newest phrase is "no waaaaay" and the food he's always asking for is "piz-zah?" It's very fun to see the language development. This weekend my sister Avery was in town, and we took Mack to the parade with god-mama Anna. He was in awe and slept for three hours when we got home! I guess it was a lot for a little guy. I will definitely be posting in the coming weeks, as we have more family news to share.

20 months!

(Reaping the benefits of Mama's baking)

(The only clear picture Mama could take!)

(See Mom, Daddy's shoes fit me!)

(Playing with cars, a favorite pastime of mine)

(Eating with a spoon, I'm getting better at it!)

I know, I know, I have been really slow about posting since the holidays. This week I wanted to share some of Mack's latest play habits. He absolutely loves running (not walking) everywhere, and wearing Daddy's shoes! I tried my best to catch him in the act at this, but alas he was to quick for me! Just like all toddlers at this age, Mack loves to help us doing anything, laundry, cooking, cleaning. This month we baked cookies together, my only mistake was I gave him the beaters before he was finished with dinner. Needless to say, he chose cookie dough over fruit that night!
