Happy Eastover!

Eastover, a holiday Ethan and I have been celebrating since we made it up with our dear friends Mike and Jackie (another interfaith couple) back in DC. While we both take our respective holidays (Passover for him, Easter for me) seriously, it's nice that they coincide so we can celebrate both together! Mack of course also gets this benefit, (although his Daddy doesn't really enjoy giving up bread etc.). These pictures were from this past week and Easter Sunday. Mack is enjoying his first matzo ball from Ethan's famous Matzo Ball Soup (a Silverman family favorite!). On Easter Sunday I sang for two masses, and Ethan came with Mack to hear me cantor the 2nd one. He was wonderful in church and I did not hear even one little squeal out of him! However taking his picture was a different story, this was as far as I got.

To nap or not to nap, that is the question

I forgot to post this picture. For all the good Mack was as a traveler, he certainly was not a good napper this trip. Ethan and I tried several times to get him to sleep when he was very tired, but as you can see, Mack won out!

First Family Vacation

This weekend was our first vacation as a family of 3. We went to Miami for Ethan's college championship baseball team reunion and to visit his Grandpa Felix. This was a trip of many firsts for Mack; first time at the beach, a game, and most importantly meeting his great Grandpa Felix! Mack absolutely was a wonderful traveler and made friends everywhere he went. I was especially thankful for our wonderful stroller (thank you Aunt Beck) because it was so lightweight and easy to travel with. A couple of notes on the pictures, we went to the beach one day and the pool another. The outdoor marina is by a restaurant called Monty's which is a favorite place of ours. Mack ate plaintains for the first time on this trip, and LOVED them! At the game there was a reception for all the players, and they were each introduced onto the field. The guys that had their children with them brought them onto the field, so you will see Mack waving with Ethan as he is getting introduced. All in all it was a wonderful trip and the perfect length of time for a little one. When we got back to St. Louis, he took a very long nap this afternoon and was still ready for bed at our usual time.

10 months old!

I am a few days past Mack's 10 month mark, but I wanted to post a few pics of us being silly on a week night. Mack is not only crawling everywhere, but he is pulling up on everything as well. Because he is so busy, Mommy misses things here and there. And as for eating, he completely knows how to do it, you just have to see what mood he is in as to whether he will feed himself, or want your assistance. That being said, he needed no assistance when he decided to crawl over to Piper's dish and take a handful of dog food Sunday morning. I was there, but it took Ethan coming home and asking me, "Is he eating dog food?" to catch on to the situation. I never believed people when they said babies keep them running around crazy, until now!

Happy Friday!

We are still working on learning to feed ourselves. Mack tries somewhat hard, but still gets frustrated. I was laughing as I took these pictures because of the faces he was making as I snapped away. He is definitely becoming a little ham!
